Budget Passes House: Calls to Senators Needed

October 21, 2003

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a budget which includes 100% restoration of BHSI, Act 152, and Medicaid drug and alcohol funding. It appears that HSDF was only restored at 50% and PCCD funds remain at $7.754 million. PCPA is heartened that the House has passed a budget that includes a significant portion of restoration. It appears that the governor supports the work of the House. Now the Senate needs to come to the table.

Please take time NOW to call your Senator. Urge them to work with the House and the governor to reach a quick resolution to this budget crisis. Emphasize that the future of programs depends on an immediate restoration of funds. Providers cannot hold the fort much longer. Restoration is crucial NOW.
