Stopgap funding for November has been approved and letters to SCAs are expected out this week. The amount for November will be the same as it was for October. Hopefully the budget problems will be resolved in November and December stopgap funds will not be necessary. PCPA extends thanks to Department of Public Welfare Secretary Estelle Richman and Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Deputy Secretary Joan Erney for all the work they have done to assure these crucial stopgap funds.
Important Note: Be sure to take time to contact your senator and encourage them to work with the governor and the House of Representatives to come up with a resolution to this budget crisis now. Also, plan to come to Harrisburg on November 19 for the "Restore the Cuts" rally. It is important that the legislature and administration see the level of support that exists for these programs.
