The recently approved budget fully restored D&A/RIP funding to the previous year’s level of $13 million. The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) is therefore in the process of contacting counties currently receiving D&A/RIP funding to identify whether or not they intend to seek their county's original allocation from State FY 2002/03. Counties must respond no later than Monday, January 12. These additional funds must be obligated during the project period, which ends June 30 and expended within 60 days after the end of the project period.
Once PCCD staff know which counties will be seeking their full allocation and which county projects will be requesting a reduced amount, PCCD staff will attempt to redistribute the extra funds to a project (or projects) who can expend the full amount by June 30. PCCD will re-contact each county by January 16 to notify them of the process they must follow to receive the additional funds.
All PCPA members that have had PCCD grants are encouraged to contact your county representatives as soon as possible to discuss program plans for the remainder of the year.
