Residential Restraint Regional Forums

Department of Public Welfare (DPW) leaders met with provider representatives and other stakeholders to launch the statewide residential restraint initiative. Secretary of Public Welfare Estelle Richman pledged the department’s support and acknowledged that the state would need to find and commit resources to this important effort. DPW will now hold regional forums to continue to promote this initiative.

Alternatives to Coercive Techniques Web Site
DPW, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania CASSP Training and Technical Assistance Institute, has established a web site to provide information and resources supporting the residential restraint initiative. This site, http://pacassp.psych.psu.edu/DPWACT/home.htm, will enable providers to download handouts from the statewide forum, an annotated bibliography, articles, and resources as they become available.
