On Tuesday, October 11 you are invited to join PCPA staff, the Board of Directors, former PCPA presidents, and your colleagues for the Presidents Welcome Reception in Convention Hall following the close of educational activities for the day. Please join us in thanking our sponsor Community Care Behavioral Health, Pittsburgh. The reception features hors d’oeuvres and beverages and offers a valuable first networking opportunity of the week with colleagues, speakers, and other guests. Conference Committee members and PCPA staff are on hand to answer questions, provide directions and tips for an enjoyable week, and make introductions.
Association Luncheon & Awards Recognition

Join the PCPA Board of Directors at the association’s annual luncheon for highlights from the year and in the recognition of individuals being honored for excellence in the fields of mental health, intellectual disability, and substance use services. Each year the association presents three awards to individuals or organizations nominated by colleagues for noted achievements.
The Marilyn Mennis Memorial Award is presented to an individual or organization that exemplifies leadership, commitment, and advocacy on behalf of Pennsylvania children with special needs and their families. The Raymond R. Webb, Jr. Government Relations Award is given to honor those who have raised their voices on behalf of adults and children in need of mental health, intellectual disability, and/or substance use services. The President’s Award, the association’s highest honor, is presented to an individual or organization that has helped to shape the community-based service system in Pennsylvania.
The awards luncheon also includes commentary by PCPA President Jerry Skillings, Horizon House, and George J. Kimes, PCPA executive director.
The luncheon and awards recognition is an open event for all conference attendees, regardless of membership status. Please join us for lunch and to honor your outstanding colleagues! PCPA extends its thanks to Magellan Behavioral Health, Newtown, for its sponsorship of the 2011 luncheon.
Networking Reception

Nothing seems better than the chance to unwind and network with colleagues at the end of a busy day of learning at the PCPA conference. Associate member CBHNP/PerformCare, Harrisburg, provides that opportunity in a favored event at Seven Springs. All conference participants are invited to join the PCPA Board of Directors and staff in the Alpine Room & Deck for the Networking Reception. The reception is a long-standing tradition and a premier networking opportunity of the week! Guests are treated to a delightful array of heavy hors d’oeuvres, a chocolate fountain, beverages, and ample opportunities to meet and mingle with colleagues! The Networking Reception is your chance to join in and make new connections, revive long-standing conversations, and meet other conference guests. Make sure it’s part of your plans for the day!
Mountain Barbecue

Renowned for its open pit barbecue, Seven Springs Mountain Resort presents a relaxed, casual dining experience on Thursday evening. An always-anticipated PCPA conference tradition, the all-you-can-eat dinner includes grilled sirloin steak, barbecued chicken, spareribs, corn-on-the-cob, red skinned potatoes, plus a complete salad and dessert table. The barbecue is held in the resort’s Ski Lodge with open picnic-style seating. Join all conference participants for great food and a great time.
Plan ahead to stop in the Matterhorn Lounge for conversation and music after dinner and celebrate another successful conference with your colleagues.
Cyber Café

In an increasingly fast-paced business environment, staying connected to the office is essential. PCPA offers a Cyber Café where conference guests can access email and information from the office while still enjoying events at the conference without the need to carry your own laptop. PCPA staff is available throughout the week to share hints for navigating the association web site, which offers critical policy, government, and legislative information, and to help members gain access to the Members Only section of the web site, www.paproviders.org.
The PCPA Cyber Café is available in the Evergreen Room (the same level as workshop meeting rooms) beginning on Tuesday and remaining through Friday. Multiple computers are available for guests. The association extends thanks to Brown & Brown of Lehigh Valley, Inc., Bethlehem, for their sponsorship support of the Cyber Café! Be sure to stop by their booth in Exhibit Hall on and extend your thanks as well!
