The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) has reinstated the Governor’s Advisory Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse. The first meeting of the newly formed council was held on July 29 after a 10-year hiatus. The council will function in accordance with the original Act 63 of 1972. Attached is a copy of the meeting minutes for review. The following is a list of the newly appointed members of the council:

PCPA has been advocating strongly for the reinstatement of the Governor’s Council on Drug and Alcohol as outlined in PCPA Recommendations For A Healthier and Stronger Commonwealth. The Association is hopeful that the new council will serve to strengthen the drug and alcohol program in Pennsylvania.
