Substance Abuse/Co-occurring Research Call for Posters

April 2, 20024

The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association (PCPA) is a stakeholder and participant in the Pennsylvania Practice Improvement Collaborative (PIC). The PIC is administered by the Institute for Research, Education, and Training in Addictions (IRETA), and seeks to ensure that research findings are effectively translated into practice. This statewide PIC works with policymakers, providers, researchers, consumers, funders, persons representing culturally specific groups, and community service programs to promote the adoption of evidence-based practices. The Pennsylvania PIC conducts programs of knowledge exchange and technology transfer, promotes the adoption of evidence-based treatment interventions in a manner that is culturally competent, and conducts studies on effective implementation methods.

The Pennsylvania Practice Improvement Collaborative (PIC) announces a Call for Posters to be presented at its conference entitled :"ubstance Abuse Treatment Today: Using Data to Empower the Treatment System" that will be held at the Hershey Lodge July 7-9. The conference is seeking posters that describe research and evaluation efforts of programs or service systems that address substance abuse or co-occurring disorders. Preferably, the research and evaluation efforts should involve a data set that was collected to track funding or utilization (i.e., claims or administrative data). However, other research and evaluation efforts involving primary data collection will be considered.

Further information and the complete Call for Posters is available at www.ireta.org/pic/call.htm. Please contact Cyndi Holland at IRETA 412-383-9847 or cyh2+@pitt.edu for additional information regarding the Call for Posters. Abstracts are due by April 15.
