Functional Behavioral Assessment and Treatment Plan Development Presented by the Bureau of Autism Services Clinical Team

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Bureau of Autism Services has announced training opportunities for Behavior Specialist Consultants, Therapeutic Staff Support Workers, Qualified Mental Retardation Professionals, program specialists, and psychologists working with children, adolescents, and adults living with autism spectrum disorders.

These two-day training events will focus on assessment and replacement of challenging behaviors using a Functional Behavioral Assessment and the development of a treatment or behavior support plan that can be used across settings. Attendees working with children and adolescents are expected to have previously viewed the October 6, 2006 training DVD, Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders, which was mailed to behavioral health rehabilitation services providers in the spring of 2007. Attendees working with adults are expected to have previously viewed the Autism 101 training on the ODP consulting web site: www.ocsconsulting.org. There is no fee for the training, however travel, meals, and hotel accommodations will not be provided by the bureau. Participants are required to attend both full days in order to receive a certificate of completion or to apply for continuing education credits that will be offered for most professional disciplines. The registration deadline is March 20.

Training will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at four locations:
