Autism Training for BHRS

The Bureau of Autism Services is offering training opportunities for Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) Behavior Specialist Consultants and Therapeutic Support Staff Workers serving children and adolescents living with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The Functional Behavior Assessment and Treatment Plan Development,
presented by the Bureau of Autism Services Clinical Team,

is a two-day training focused on assessment and replacement of challenging behaviors using a Functional Behavior Assessment and the development of a treatment or behavior support plan that can be used across settings. Attendees are expected to have previously viewed the October 6, 2006 training DVD, “Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders,” which was mailed to providers in the spring. There is no fee for this training. Travel, luncheon, and hotel accommodations are not provided. The training is approved for 15.5 Behavior Analyst Certification Board credits. Participants are required to attend both days in order to receive a certificate of completion and continuing education units (CEUs). The bureau has applied to provide additional professional CEUs.
