The Community Behavioral HealthCare Network of Pennsylvania (CBHNP), in conjunctuion with the Pennsylvania CASSP Training and Technical Institute, is offering a two-day training: Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Being Applied in School and Home Settings to Persons With Autism Spectrum Disorder. continuing education units are available for professionals. Family members are invited toattend at no charge.
Scheduled February 8 - 9 at the Four Points Sheraton in Harrisburg, training objectives include:
- Learn pairing with reinforcement: how to build rapport with the learner;
- Introduce BF Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior;
- Use motivative operations to teach language and other important skills to children with autism and other developmental disabilities; and
- Learn nine research-based teaching procedures that foster quick and accurate student responding during structure teaching.
The presenter is Thomas McCaffrey, MA, BCBA, a board-certified behavior analyst who provides consultation and staff development to schools and agencies related to the education and treatment of children with autism and behavior disorders.
