The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare (National Council) is accepting suggestions and workshop submissions for the 38th National Council Conference, scheduled May 1 – 3, 2008. The conference will be held in Boston, MA.
Suggestions for events, topics, and speakers should focus on the following areas:
• Recovery and resiliency;
• Innovations in mental health and addictions treatments, rehabilitation, and service delivery;
• Cross system and community collaborations;
• Children and family services;
• Addictions treatment;
• Consumer integration, empowerment, and peer services;
• The business of behavioral health;
• Marketing and fundraising;
• Practice improvement;
• Information technology;
• Leadership and workforce development;
• Recruitment and retention;
• Board development, governance, and leadership;
• Organizational development; and
• Global initiatives.
While all National Council workshops, presentations, and speakers are by invitation only, a limited number of submissions will be given consideration. All workshop submissions are to include the following information:• Working title for proposed 1.5 hour workshop,
• Workshop description (limit to 250 words),
• Learning objectives (bulleted list),
• Documented results,
• Sample "Tools You Can Use" that can immediately be put to work back at attendees’ organizations, and
• A summary of presenters' expertise, ability to engage participants, and credentials — including other conference presentations.All proposals must be received by October 31 for consideration. PCPA’s contractual arrangement with NCCBH allows association members to join the National Council for a fraction of the regular dues. National Council members are permitted to attend the National Council Conference at a $200 savings for member agencies.
