The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services previously announced the selection of Community Care Behavioral Health Organization (Community Care) as the behavioral health managed care organization (BH-MCO) vendor for the North Central Zone. The North Central Zone includes 23 counties. This HealthChoices contract is a direct agreement between the state and the BH-MCO. Magellan Behavioral Health, Inc., raised a protest to the selection, but has since withdrawn the protest. Therefore, there is no anticipated delay and Community Care will begin efforts to meet the January 1 implementation date. PCPA is committed to working with Community Care and with its provider members to prepare for this HealthChoices expansion.
