Alcohol Tax Resolution Completed:
Signatures Needed NOW!

September 12, 2005

As previously reported, PCPA has been working with a number of organizations to secure a source of stable funding to support drug and alcohol treatment and prevention. PCPA has been proud to be working on this initiative with the Parent Teachers Association, Pennsylvanians Against Underage Drinking, The DUI Association, MOMSTELL, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and The Independent State Store Union, to mention just a few. The first piece of legislation was introduced and a resolution developed by the coalition to advance the fair and appropriate use of alcohol tax dollars to support drug and alcohol treatment and prevention. The resolution is complete and ready for signatures. All members are encouraged to contact the PCPA office if they have not already signed on to the resolution. The plan is to have thousands of organizations sign on from across the commonwealth. Not only are members asked to sign, but to also obtain agreement from as many local organizations as possible. The resolution is available via the link above as a PDF format document and sign-on can be emailed, faxed, or mailed. For more information contact Lynn Cooper.
