PCPA is pleased to report that Senate Bill 727 (the Senate version of the dedicated alcohol tax legislation) was unanimously voted out of the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee on June 13.
PCPA thanks Sens. Patricia H. Vance (R-Cumberland/York) and Jay Costa, Jr. (D-Allegheny) for their leadership on this issue and their respective staff for their hard work. Thanks also go to Sens. Jake Corman and Vincent J. Hughes, majority and minority chairs of the committee, respectively, for their willingness to support this legislation and move it forward. A special thanks is also extended to members who have discussed the need for this legislation with their respective senators.
Members are urged to contact senators on the Public Health and Welfare Committee to thank them for this vote.
