Incident Management Comments Available

PCPA, through the assistance of many members, has submitted comments to the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) on the draft bulletin, Community Incident Management & Reporting System. The main points made by PCPA were:

• PCPA supports the idea of a uniform reporting system, however the current draft bulletin generates many concerns.
• Reported incidents should be limited to those that are most important, are truly unusual, and/or have a well-defined adverse impact on consumers.
• The privacy of consumers is of utmost concern after evaluating this draft bulletin.
• The proposed time frame for implementation needs to be reconsidered.
• The financial impact of this draft bulletin will be substantive and will further strain a system that is already dealing with financial hardships.
