OMHSAS Incident Management County Contacts and Other Information

September 7, 2006

The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) has distributed contact information for the Incident Management and Reporting Process in each county or county joinder. The spreadsheet was created to track county readiness and provides a snapshot of the status as of August 31. Preparations have progressed since that time. Community residential rehabilitation service (CRR) and adult long term structured residence (LTSR) providers should refer to this spreadsheet to identify the contact for the county or joinder in which the facility is located. Providers should contact the county representative to establish relationships and develop implementation strategies.

OMHSAS representatives are concerned that they may not have an up-to-date listing of all affected CRR or LTSR providers. PCPA providers of CRR and LTSR that have not received information about establishing incident management and reporting systems from OMHSAS should contact Betty Simmonds. PCPA has received additional information from OMHSAS indicating provider readiness (similar to the spreadsheet for counties) that includes many PCPA member CRR and LTSR facilities and is hopeful that all CRR and LTSR members are included. OMHSAS and PCPA want to ensure that all affected providers have the necessary information to progress with incident management and reporting.

OMHSAS has requested feedback on problems that providers are having with incident management and reporting, including staff training issues. Please report specific issues as they arise to Betty Simmonds (betty@paproviders.org or 717-364-3280). OMHSAS has developed Frequently Asked Questions and will continue to update them as needed.
