In an Alert dated November 21 PCPA informed its members about the latest developments for “incident to.” It has come to the attention of PCPA that an error may be included in the section headed Practitioners for whom services may be provided “incident to.” In this section, licensed clinical social workers are included in the list of non-physician practitioners who may have services provided “incident to” their services. PCPA has been unable to find written documentation verifying that services may be provided “incident to” licensed clinical social workers, and is therefore seeking clarification from HGSAdministrators.PCPA urges that members are cautious about providing services “incident to” licensed clinical social workers as PCPA investigates this further and written documentation is received.
