PCPA has received a copy of a draft bulletin establishing a uniform system of incident reporting for the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS). The draft bulletin covers all of OMHSAS’ mental health treatment and support services.
PCPA has convened a work group to provide comments on this draft bulletin and has scheduled a conference call for Thursday, September 4 at 3:00 p.m. All members impacted by this bulletin are encouraged to provide comments – either in writing or by participating in the conference call. It is also important that a mental retardation provider with experience implementing the Office of Mental Retardation’s incident management requirements participate in the call. PCPA will work to ensure that a duplicative or conflicting system is not developed between mental health and mental retardation.
The comment period is very brief, therefore any written comments must be submitted to PCPA no later than September 8 in order to meet this deadline.Members interested in participating in the conference call should contact Rebecca May Cole who will provide instructions on participating in the call. All written comments should be sent to Ms. May Cole via email, fax (717-657-3552) or mail to PCPA, Attn: Rebecca May Cole, 2400 Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
