The Office of Mental Retardation (OMR) issued a bulletin to give interpretive guidance on the reporting of incidents involving a hospitalization. Following a hospitlaization the "Hospital Discharge Instructions" are now to be obtained instead of the "Hospital Discharge Summary." This change applies to the Final Report section (page 13) of OMR Bulletin #00-01-05, Incident Management. This change is a result of OMR's Quality Improvement efforts, including the use of focus groups and data obtained from HCSIS.
