The PCPA Benchmarking Initiative assists members in measuring their agency’s performance and compare themselves nationally and regionally. As the PCPA Benchmarking Initiative enters its second year, applications are being accepted for new participants. Thanks to a grant from the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, the fee for participating in the initiative is once again waived for all participants.
The PCPA Benchmarking Initiative received very high marks last year for ease of use, user support, and overall effectiveness. Over 80 organizations in the state are enrolled, making it one of the largest benchmarking initiatives of its kind in the nation.
PCPA’s partner in the benchmarking initiative, Behavioral Pathway Systems, has made several improvements to encourage provider participation in 2007/08. To allow for a better “apples to apples” comparison, Alcohol and Drug Provider will be added as a provider type. Reports will be color-coded to identify desirable and undesirable rankings. A new survey will be redesigned around a more powerful SQL Server 2005 technology platform, making for greater speed and functionality.
An audio conference is scheduled from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., September 25, to acquaint PCPA members with the rationale, procedures, and benefits of the PCPA Benchmarking Initiative. The presentation will be informative and enjoyable. To access the audio conference, call 800-977-8002. When prompted for your participant code, enter 53165748, followed by the pound (#) sign. Technical questions should be directed to Paul Lefkovitz, PhD, President, Behavioral Pathway Systems (317-594-0766 or plefk@bpsys.org).
