The PCPA Annual Conference Committee has been compiling topics of interest for consideration in workshop planning. Final workshops selections are not made until March when the committee has been able to review responses to the Call for Presentations released February 9. The committee is making available to the general public the list of topics that has been generated to date. Individuals are encouraged to review these topics as potential opportunities as they plan proposal responses.
As noted in the Call for Presentations, the association seeks proposals related to adult and children’s mental health, adult and children’s addictive disease, mental retardation, agency and business operations, managed care, legislative and policy concerns, system redesign initiatives, and submissions for a non-accredited track focusing on wellness and balance. The workshop selection process remains a competitive one as outlined in the Call for Presenters. It should be noted that just because an item is currently under consideration, that does not guarantee that it will be included in the final selection process. The committee makes final inclusion decisions only after receiving and reviewing all submissions and determining the number of workshops they are going to offer.
Individuals are urged to finalize proposal plans and assure they are submitted to PCPA by the March 9 deadline to be considered. Proposal submissions must be complete as outlined in the Call for Presenters. Questions related to the process maybe directed to Kris Ericson, technical and conference services coordinator at the association.
