PCPA is preparing to transition the method it uses to send email publications such as Infos and Legislative Alerts. While these publications are currently being sent as Microsoft Word attachments to email, in upcoming months they will be sent via Constant Contact, an online newsletter distribution engine.
This changeover is happening for several reasons. PCPA has been very fortunate in recent years to see its committee rosters grow steadily, which has resulted in a larger amount of email traffic. The large number of individual emails currently being sent from has overburdened PCPA’s servers and has classified the association as a spammer in some cybersecurity programs. Transitioning to Constant Contact will allow PCPA to operate more effectively with less web traffic and to effectively manage returned messages from recipients that have changed email addresses or are no longer employed at a PCPA member agency.
PCPA requests that this message be forwarded to your agency or company information technology professional or that they are informed in another way of the upcoming transition before February 1. With the changeover, there is a possibility that emails sent via Constant Contact will automatically be filtered to a junk mail folder or blocked altogether. In order to continue to receive PCPA information, the association recommends that your online security settings be amended to allow messages sent via Constant Contact to be received.
A timeline has been created to manage the changeover. The date that members will begin receiving Infos and Legislative Alerts via Constant Contact is dependent on the committees with which they participate. Mental Retardation Committee members will receive email publications beginning February 4, Children’s Committee members beginning February 11, and Mental Health Committee members beginning February 18. Beginning February 25, all Infos and Legislative Alerts will be sent via Constant Contact.
