Federal Cuts Threaten PA Developmental Diabilities Council

June 11, 2002

Without Congressional intervention, the Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council (DDC) will have cuts of up to $500,000 in its federal funding that will inhibit its ability to provide grants to the disability community. Unintended errors in Washington caused this problem. The DDC, with the strong support of Governor Schweiker, has been working at the federal level to avert this situation. Advocates request that people concerned about the council contact key legislators in Washington to request their help in restoring the funding.
