Alan J. Hartl, executive director, Lenape Valley Foundation, Inc., has been selected to receive PCPA’s 2008 Raymond R. Webb, Jr. Government Relations Award. The award recognizes outstanding efforts in the government relations area.
Mr. Hartl has been a key supporter of PCPA legislative activity for many years. In addition to his long time tenure as co-cahir of the Legislative Affairs Committee, he has worked tirelessly and enthusiastically on behalf of the Pennsylvania Community Providers Political Action Committee (PAC). His leadership as emcee has been the foundation for the success of the PCPA Capitol Day. Legislative Affairs Committee members describe him as “a dedicated and caring man whose work in the legislative arena has been an inspiration.” Mr. Hartl is also a past president of PCPA, chairperson of the PAC, former vice-chairperson of Community Behavioral HealthCare Network of Pennsylvania’s Board of Directors, and is a board member and chairperson of the association’s Worker’s Compensation Trust Fund. PCPA Executive Director George Kimes commented that he could think of no one more deserving than Hartl. “For many years he has been the driving force behind much of PCPA’s legislative activity. Additionally, his leadership of our PAC has led to increasing success in our fundraising.” The association congratulates Mr. Hartl on his selection and extends thanks for his many contributions to PCPA. The award will be presented at the PCPA conference in October at Seven Springs.
