The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association (PCPA) has announced that George J. Kimes has been selected as the organization's Executive Director. PCPA is a trade association representing over 200 Pennsylvania agencies that provide mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse, and other human services for adults and children. Kimes has been an active PCPA volunteer for over 15 years, and received the Association's President's Award in 1999 for his unmatched dedication, leadership, and commitment to the growth and stability of the organization.
In addition to serving as PCPA's president in 1989-90, he is a founder and current board member of the Community Behavioral Healthcare Network of Pennsylvania, a provider network comprised of PCPA members. Kimes also serves on the boards of two PCPA subsidiaries: the Pennsylvania Community Providers Training Center and the Pennsylvania Community Providers Service Corporation. He has chaired the Association's Annual Conference Committee and has served as a major resource to PCPA in the areas of information technology and dues structuring.
"I am confident that George Kimes will move PCPA forward in the new century, guiding us to continued growth and strength," stated Alan Hartl, PCPA Board President. "The unanimous vote of the Board of Directors for George indicates our members' support for their qualified and highly-respected colleague."
Kimes replaces Raymond R. Webb, Jr., who retired after serving as PCPA's Executive Director since 1989. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Adams-Hanover Counseling Services in Hanover, PA, Kimes will assume his responsibilities at the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association full-time on June 1, 2000.
