Rebecca May Cole to Join Department of Health

May 13, 2004

Rebecca May Cole will leave PCPA on May 14 to join the Pennsylvania Department of Health Policy Office as an Executive Policy Specialist. Ms. May Cole has been with the Association for seven years beginning January 1997 as the Government Relations Intern, then joining as a staff member the following June. She has held several positions within the Association including Director of Training, Assistant Policy Specialist, and most recently Mental Health Policy Specialist. May Cole has also served as President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Community Providers Service Corporation, a subsidiary of PCPA.

Ms. May Cole expressed appreciation to the Association for the many opportunities given to her to work with provider agencies in a variety of capacities. While she indicated that she is excited to be embarking on this new journey, she will also miss the many wonderful people she has worked with since 1997. Executive Director George Kimes said, “PCPA will miss Rebecca, but looks forward to working with her in her new position. She has been a valuable employee and had an excellent working relationship with our members. In one of her most recent assignments, she assisted many members with billing problems resulting from the new Medical Assistance payment system, PROMISe. She was responsible for expediting payment of millions of dollars of overdue payments to our members.” A PCPA Info announcing the job opening at the Association was sent previously and is currently available on the Association web site. Plans for handling adult mental health issues at PCPA following Ms. May Cole’s departure will be announced in the near future. In the interim, questions may be directed to Kimes.
