The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution in March 1995 to establish an Annual Award in honor of Marilyn Mennis. Marilyn was a tireless advocate for developing quality services for persons with special needs. Her memory and commitment, we believe, is embodied in this award. Last year, the award was given to Dr. Gordon Hodas, recognizing his commitment to both excellence in clinical care and collaboration between families and professionals.
The Marilyn Mennis Award will be presented in October at the 2004 PCPA Annual Conference at Seven Springs. Member agencies may nominate an individual or creative program that reflects Marilyn's qualities of dedication, caring, leadership, and advocacy on behalf of Pennsylvania’s children with special needs and their families. Background information on Marilyn is available from the link.
