The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution at the March 1995 Board of Directors meeting to establish an annual award in honor of Marilyn Mennis. Mennis was a tireless advocate for developing quality services for persons with special needs. Her memory and commitment is embodied in this award.
The Marilyn Mennis Award will be presented in October at the 2007 PCPA Conference at Seven Springs. Agencies may nominate an individual or creative program that reflects Mennis’ qualities of dedication, caring, leadership, and advocacy on behalf of Pennsylvania’s children with special needs and their families.
