The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association (PCPA) Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution in March 1995 to establish an annual award in honor of Marilyn Mennis. Ms. Mennis was a tireless advocate for developing quality services for persons with special needs. Her memory and commitment, PCPA believes, is embodied in this award.
The Marilyn Mennis Memorial Award will be presented in October at the 2005 PCPA conference at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Agencies may nominate an individual or creative program that reflects Marilyn's qualities of dedication, caring, leadership, and advocacy on behalf of Pennsylvania’s children with special needs and their families.
