National Council President to Speak at Annual Meeting

February 28, 2008

Linda Rosenberg, MSW, will be the featured speaker at the PCPA Annual Meeting on March 19, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rosenberg is president and CEO of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare (National Council). The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn East in Harrisburg and is open to all PCPA members.

Ms. Rosenberg has led the National Council since August 2004. Prior to joining the organization, she served for seven years as senior deputy commissioner for the New York State Office of Mental Health. There she led the implementation of evidence-based practices for adults and children, tripled New York's assertive community treatment capacity, initiated a major expansion of children's systems of care services, and developed an extensive array of housing options for people with serious mental illness. Rosenberg also implemented a network of jail diversion treatment programs and was instrumental in the opening of New York's first mental health court.

Under the leadership of Ms. Rosenberg, the National Council has refocused its efforts on public policy with great success. As a result, PCPA has entered a contractual arrangement with National Council that allows PCPA members to join the National Council at a greatly discounted dues amount. For more information on how to join National Council, or for directions to the Annual Meeting, contact Steve Neidlinger, membership and marketing coordinator.
