Don’t Miss Out! Only Two Weeks Left to Register!
July 7, 2010

PCPA is offering Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training in Pittsburgh on August 4-5. The deadline to register is July 21. Don’t miss out on this groundbreaking, public education program.

MHFA is an interactive 12-hour certification course that introduces participants to risk factors, warning signs, impacts of mental health problems, and overviews of common treatments. Participants learn a five-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources, and knowledge to help an individual in a psychiatric crisis connect with appropriate professional, social, and self-help care. The course also helps participants learn the prevalence of various mental health disorders in the US. Mental Health First Aid is designed to fight the stigma associated with mental illness and to address the real desire to help someone who is struggling. MHFA is designed for non-clinicians.

More information about the program is available on the PCPA Mental Health First Aid Training page. Specific information regarding this opportunity is included in the brochure.

Cost is $109/person for PCPA members and $159/person for non-members. This two-day training includes a participant manual, a certificate of completion from the National Council, and a light lunch. CEUs and group discounts are also available.

Can’t make the Pittsburgh training? PCPA is also offering MHFA:
August 24-25, Harrisburg
September 22-23, Philadelphia Area
October 26-27, Erie
