Stories Sought for the CASSP Newsletter
June 28, 2010

Staff from the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) is now preparing the  September edition of the CASSP Newsletter. The focus of the September issue is promoting the physical health care/mental health connection in youth suicide prevention. With many PCPA members involved in work in this area, OMHSAS has invited providers and the youth and families they serve to share their stories about:

  • Provider experiences and successes and those of youth and families working in the Garrett Lee Smith youth suicide prevention project.
  • Collaborations between community behavioral health programs and physical health primary and emergency care services facilitating youth suicide prevention.
  • Youth and family stories relating to the physical/mental health connection, particularly as it relates to suicide-related issues.

Do you have a story that you would like to share through the CASSP Newsletter?
Do you know a youth or family that would like to share their story through the CASSP Newsletter?

Provider staff, youth, and family members can contact Harriet Bicksler, editor, CASSP Newsletter, at c-hbicksle@state.pa.us, 717-772-7984, or 717-233-1278. Ms. Bicksler can conduct an interview over the phone. Interviews must be completed by the end of July to meet the deadline for publication in September.
