DPW Planning for Complex Cases
July 7, 2010

The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) is currently circulating a draft bulletin on “Complex Case Planning” and soliciting comments and recommendations. The purpose of the bulletin is to provide guidance to county agencies and managed care organizations that are involved in case planning for children with complex issues up to age 21. The draft bulletin is intended to provide a framework for county level case planning as well as collaborative planning between the county and state program offices. In those cases when a viable solution that addresses all the child’s needs cannot be reached, the bulletin provides counties with guidance on engaging DPW assistance to counties in addressing these complex situations.

The draft bulletin is available from the link. While the scope of the bullet will be county government and managed care organizations, provider comments and recommendations can be sent to DPW at to RA-policyoffice@state.pa.us by July 16. Members are encouraged to send a copy of their comments to Connell O’Brien at PCPA.
