DOH Responsible Sex Project Funding
July 15, 2011

The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) has posted a Request for Applications (RFA) for the Personal Responsibility Education Program. The purpose of the funding is to support personal responsibility education programs that replicate an evidence-based effective program model designed to change reproduction and sexual health behaviors such as delaying sexual activity, increasing condom or contraceptive use for sexually active youth, or reducing pregnancy among youth. The evidence based models to be supported by the project are either the Rikers Health Advocacy Program or Street Smart.

Applications will be accepted from the following eligible organizations and institution categories:

  • Accredited psychiatric residential treatment facilities;
  • Licensed residential substance abuse treatment programs; and
  • Residential programs serving delinquent youth, which includes those licensed by the Department of Public Welfare Office of Children, Youth and Families

The RFA can be found on the Department of General Services web site at http://www.emarketplace.state.pa.us/GeneralEdit.aspx?SID=10-07-06. Solicitation ends on August 24. This information has been provided DOH. Questions can be directed to Abigail Coleman (abcoleman@state.pa.us).
