Early Intervention PBS Grants
May 11, 2011

The Bureau of Early Intervention Services has announced competitive grants for Preschool and Infant Toddler Early Intervention (EI) Programs to implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).  These grants may be used by Preschool EI programs that have been implementing PBIS to continue the partnerships they have been supporting or to add additional partners if desired.  Preschool EI programs who have not participated in earlier behavior grants may use this new grant to begin implementing PBIS.  All Preschool EI programs have been encouraged to coordinate work with Infant Toddler EI program(s) in their area. The Infant Toddler programs awarded this grant are expected to use it to provide mentoring to other EI providers as they gain skill in supporting parents' efforts to foster strong social-emotional growth in children. These grants will be made to EI programs, but may create an opportunity for other community providers to collaborate around social and emotional supports to young children and families.  Grant applications are due May 18. Agencies can contact local EI providers to explore collaborations. For more information contact Deb Daulton (ddaulton@pattan.net).
