OCDEL Requirements for Criminal History Clearances

The Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) Bureau of Certification released Requiring Original Documents for Criminal History Clearances, that specifies beginning September 1, applications for certificates of compliance and certificates of registration must include original documents for the Pennsylvania Child Abuse Registry, the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check, and FBI Fingerprinting for the application to be complete. As of September 1, applications received without original documents attached will be returned to the applicant as incomplete. RCPA has confirmed with OCDEL that the original documents will be reviewed, copied, and returned to the applicant for primary source verification by employers and other entities required to conduct verification for employment, credentialing, and licensing.
