Pennsylvania’s Child-Adolescent Promising Practices
December 5, 2008

The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) recently reviewed an impressive array of child and adolescent-focused evidence-based and promising practices with the Integrated Children’s Services Plan Advisory. DPW has organized these important initiatives through a mapping process that shows the array of evidence-based and promising practices in each county or school district. The full set of these county initiative maps for 2008 is available.

The maps represent such evidence based and promising practices as:

  • Multi-systemic Therapy
  • Functional Family Therapy
  • Youth Suicide Prevention Grant Pilots
  • High Fidelity Wraparound
  • Phelam Model Summer Therapeutic Programs
  • School Wide Positive Behavioral Support, and
  • many other important initiatives.

PCPA has promoted the broad implementation of evidence-based and promising practices and many member agencies are leaders and providers in the introduction and expansion of these initiatives.
