Education Performance Grant Opportunity for School-Based Behavioral Health
July 18, 2011

The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education is has announced the availability of two school based behavioral health performance grants for the 2011/12 school year. The performance grants are designed to:

  • Support the establishment of School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) in newly implementing sites not yet affiliated with the Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support (PAPBS) network, and
  • Support the maintenance and expansion of SWPBIS in sites already affiliated with the PAPBS network.

Since the creation of these grants several years ago, PCPA members have successfully partnered with local schools in applying for grants and establishing SWPBIS programs. PCPA is a member of the school based behavioral health state leadership team working to advance school-provider partnerships using this evidence-based model.  More information about SWPBIS, the PAPBS network, and links to grant information are available on the PAPBS web site, www.papbs.org. The deadline for application is August 26.
