Sexual Responsibility Grant Opportunity
September 27, 2011

The Pennsylvania Department of Health has posted a Request for Applications (RFA) for the Personal Responsibility Education Program. This is a re-issue of a request. The purpose of the grant funding is to support personal responsibility education programs that replicate an evidence-based effective program model. The department is seeking programs that will implement either the Rikers Health Advocacy Program or the Street Smart model, both of which are designed to change behavior related to delaying sexual activity, increasing condom or contraceptive use for sexually active youth, or reducing pregnancy among youth. Applications will be accepted from the following eligible organizations and institutions:

  • Psychiatric residential treatment facilities,
  • Residential substance abuse treatment programs,
  • Residential programs serving dependent or delinquent youth,
  • Partial hospitalization or outpatient mental health facilities, or
  • Partial hospitalization or outpatient drug and alcohol facilities.

The RFA can be found at http://www.emarketplace.state.pa.us/GeneralEdit.aspx?SID=67-12. The deadline for submission is October 19. Questions may be directed to Abigail Coleman (abcoleman@pa.gov) until September 29.
