February 20, 2001

The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) Bureau of Operations and Quality Management, has released the Early Warning Care Management Report, Second Quarter 2000.

Linked below, the text portion of the report has been posted in a PDF file format, and requires Adobe Acrobat or another PDF reader to view the document. Adobe's Acrobat Reader is free and can be downloaded at www.adobe.com.

The second report link below consists of the accompanying charts and graphs for the second quarter report. It has been posted in its original Microsoft Excel format.

Mary Jeanne Serafin, OMHSAS, indicated the following in a cover letter to the report: "Unfortunately after the final report was printed we became aware that the authorization data reported for the Southeast counties is incorrect. The methodology for reporting authorizations requires that an unduplicated count of recipients be utilized, however the data submitted by the Southeast counties contained a duplicated count of recipients who were authorized for services. This information will be corrected in the third quarter report. All other indicators were reported utilizing the methodology specified by the EWP and are considered valid. If you have any questions, please contact me at 412-880-0455 or by e-mail mserafin@state.pa.us."

PCPA Members having difficulty accessing either link should contact Kris Ericson for technical assistance.
