October 5, 2007

DPW Changes Web Site
The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) announced that the web site will change in October. Information for Families and Individuals will be available through a link on the left of the Welcome page. According to DPW most information pertinent to providers will be found through the Provider Information link on the left of the Welcome page. Links under Provider Information will be available to Medical Assistance, Mental Health/Substance Abuse, Mental Retardation, Juvenile Justice, Pharmacy, Long Term Living, Child Welfare, Early Learning, and Administrative Services. Publications and forms will be accessed through a link on the left of the Welcome page. DPW will provide a message with a link for those pages that are bookmarked and can be redirected. If the page cannot be redirected, a message will indicate that the page cannot be found and suggest using a keyword or subject search. Some information may be difficult to locate for awhile and new bookmarks will be needed. Population of information by program offices may vary.

ICM FFP Rate Incorrect in Letters
DPW has issued a Remittance Advice Alert/PROMISe Banner Page to inform providers that the Federal Financial Participation (FFP) rate listed for intensive case management (ICM) services in September 14 rate letters, and effective, October 1 was incorrect. The correct FFP rate is 54.08 percent with the state portion 45.92 percent. The rate information listed in the letter and the other billing information remains unchanged for intensive case management services only. A separate letter will be issued to address blended case management services. Providers are asked to contact the Behavioral Health Inquiry Line at 800-433-4459.

NPI Information Required for New Providers
Effective January 1, 2008 all new health care providers requesting Medical Assistance (MA) enrollment must include the following NPI information on the PROMISe Provider Enrollment Base Application in order to complete the enrollment process with DPW. The 10-digit NPI number and applicable taxonomy codes from DPW's Crosswalk should be entered in box three of the application form. The 9-digit zip code should be entered in box 20a of the application. Additional information about PROMISe provider enrollment and the application form is available through www.dpw.state.pa.us/omap/promise/enroll/omappromiseenroll.asp.

Updated ePEAP User Manual
The updated version of the Electronic Provider Enrollment Automation Project (ePEAP) manual is available on the DPW web site (www.dpw.state.pa.us/Resources/Documents/Pdf/PROMISe/ProvEPEAPManual.pdf).
