OIG 2001 Work Plan Includes CMHCs
November 21, 2000

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) has released their Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2001 which includes specific projects where they will be focusing their attention. OIG has announced that they will be reviewing overpayments to Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) that voluntarily withdrew from the Medicare program. This review will identify those CMHCs that voluntarily withdrew from participation in the Medicare program and will determine the Medicare payments they received from October 1995 to April 1999, the providers that received the overpayments, and the amount of the overpayments.

The following is a list of contractors that will be conducting the site visits, however, it is unclear which contractors will be working within Pennsylvania.

  • Aspen Systems Corporation, Inc.
  • BC/BS of Alabama
  • Computer Sciences Corporation
  • California Medical Review
  • Dyn Corp
  • Electronic Data Systems
  • Lifecare Management Partners
  • Reliance Safeguard Solutions
  • Regence BC/BS
  • Science Applications International
