Positive Practices Meeting
September 23, 2008

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has scheduled an open meeting of the Statewide Positive Practices Committee. The committee’s mission is “To improve people’s lives by increasing local capacity to provide supports to individuals with mental health and behavioral challenges by promoting the guiding principles of Positive Approaches, Everyday Lives and the Recovery Movement through a Department of Public Welfare system collaboration.”

The meeting is November 5, 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Training Center, 403 Winding Hill Rd, Mechanicsburg, and is open to providers of behavioral health and intellectual disability services.

The agenda for the day includes:

  • A joint presentation by the Office of Mental Health And Substance Abuse Services and ODP, “The Best of Both,” by Clearfield Jefferson MH/MR;
  • Hope Enterprises Inc. presentation “Debriefing after an Incident;”
  • Northeastern Pennsylvania Positive Practices Committee presentation, “A DIY Model for Capacity Building;” and  
  • Positive practices updates from the central office, regions, state centers, and participants.
