RWJF Jobs to Careers Grant Applications Due
June 7, 2007

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Jobs to Careers, Promoting Work-Based Learning for Quality Care call for proposals for implementation grants is available, with brief proposals due June 12. Brief proposals can only be submitted via the RWJF Grantmaking Online system (http://grantmaking.rwjf.org/dfw2), must conform to the outline presented by RWJF, and must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on June 12. This is the first of a three-step process.

Applicants selected in stage one will be invited by letter or email to submit a full proposal including a budget and budget narrative. Full proposals, also submitted through the online system, must be received by RWJF no later than August 30. Finalists will be subject to a site visit. Up to eight grants will be awarded. Grants of up to $437,750 over three years are available.

The grant is to support partnerships to advance and reward skill development of current direct care workers in health care and health care systems. The implementation grant will support partnerships of health and health care employers and educational institutions to promote learning, career advancement, and testing of work-based learning models. Proposals must include system change within all partnering organizations that supports learning and career advancement for frontline workers, use work-based learning models and other strategies, establish partnership between employers and educational institutions, address a targeted group of frontline workers and address how the project will expand to reach others, and establish rewards for those who successfully participate in the project.

The complete call for proposals is available on the Jobs to Careers web site (www.jobs2careers.org/cfp.php). Answers to frequently asked questions and information on work-based learning are also available on the web site (www.jobs2careers.org).
