Lehigh County Releases Respite Services RFP

Lehigh County released Request for Proposals (RFP) 12-006, Home/Community and Site-Based Respite Services for the HealthChoices Program. The RFP solicits proposals to provide a respite program for children through age 21, with serious emotional and/or behavioral challenges, to support parents to maintain children at home. Respite services may be home or community-based, site-based, or a combined program and must be offered at times that accommodate school and work schedules, with afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. The RFP asks for creative programs within the framework of the proposed scope of work and the HealhChoices Reinvestment Plan. The two-year contract will begin July 1 with no provisions for increase.

Written questions may be submitted until 4:00 p.m., January 31 with responses due by February 7. Proposals must be submitted by 4:00 p.m., February 15. The contract will be awarded March 28 for a start date of July 1. Written questions and requests for clarification should be addressed to:

The RFP is also available at the County Purchasing Office, Government Center R, 450, 17 S Seventh St, Allentown, but payment of $10 is required. There is no fee for the PDF download.
