Comments Needed on Aging State Plan

Every four years, the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) must develop a State Plan on Aging and submit it to US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Aging (AOA). This plan structures PDA’s goals and priorities and provides an aging agenda for Pennsylvania. PDA has held forums and focus groups statewide to gather input. The draft 2012 - 2016 State Plan on Aging is available for review and comment. Members are encouraged to submit comments related to behavioral health needs of older adults.

A Notice of Public Hearing was published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Hearings are June 18, Penn State University Wartik Lab, Rm 108, University Park; June 25, University of Pennsylvania Biomedical Research Building, Auditoriums 2-3 and Lobby, 421 Curie Blvd, Philadelphia; and June 28, University of Pittsburgh William Pitt Union Ballroom, 3959 5th Ave, Pittsburgh. Oral testimony must be scheduled in advance and is limited to five minutes per person. A written copy of testimony must be submitted.
