CLS Survey of Disenrolled MA Consumers
November 10, 2011

Over 100,000 individuals in Pennsylvania have lost Medical Assistance (MA) coverage since July. Community Legal Services (CLS) believes that many of these case closures were done improperly. CLS has requested that PCPA collaborate with them on behalf of those adults and children who have lost MA coverage and want to share their stories directly with CLS. These are individuals or the parents of PH 95 eligible children who have Medicaid cases that were:

  1. Closed sometime between July and the present or
  2. Closed for noncompliance with the redetermination process (meaning that the individual allegedly did not return redetermination/re-evaluation paperwork).

Even if the individual has since reapplied or appealed and has received Medicaid again, CLS is interested in hearing about the case. Individual adults and parents willing to share stories can be invited to fill out the online questionnaire at bit.ly/vqC1Wk. CLS has informed PCPA that no names will be used without express permission. Survey participants should note that filling out the form does not mean that CLS is providing legal representation. If a consumer or family needs legal assistance in applying or appealing MA eligibility they may call CLS at215-981-3700 for further information. Please direct questions to:
