OMHSAS Ends Use of PROMISe Question Form
July 8, 2005

The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) has determined that there is no longer a need for the PROMISe™ Question Submission Form as a communication vehicle between providers and OMHSAS. The frequency of submissions on this form has decreased dramatically as systemic problems have been identified and corrected. OMHSAS staff have indicated that most of the cases that they have seen recently are due to individual provider issues, many of which can be corrected through technical assistance and, in some cases, more training in billing and the use of PROMISe™. Therefore, OMHSAS will no longer accept this form and instead directs providers to contact the Behavioral Health Hotline at 800-433-4459 or to send an email to HC-Services@state.pa.us. PCPA members are encouraged to first try the contact points above, then, if the problem persists, to contact Betty Simmonds at the PCPA office.
