Corrections Needed on TSS Claims
January 10, 2005

The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services has informed PCPA that a Remittance Advice Banner Page will be added to the Department of Public Welfare (DPW) web site, www.dpw.state.pa.us/omap/provinf/omapRAalerts.asp, for two remittance advice cycles starting on January 10 for providers of therapeutic staff support services (TSS). TSS providers who billed through PROMISe™ without using a prior authorization number, used an invalid prior authorization number, or used no prior authorization number on claims, must complete claim adjustments by close of business on February 28 to make needed corrections. Failure to correct claims by February 28 will result in recoupment of payments by DPW in March. Once DPW’s recoupment process occurs, providers will be able to re-bill using the appropriate prior authorization number, which will permit appropriate payments to be made. Please contact Betty Simmonds at PCPA with questions.
