DPW to Request One Year Extension of Revenue Reconciliation: Provider Input Needed
April 5, 2011

A recent meeting with the Department of Public Welfare (DPW) and stakeholders addressed several issues impacting waiver providers. The end result was the development of a team which includes the direct service provider associations on the BH/ID/A Coalition to work on intensive negotiations to develop sound fiscal policies prior to FY 2011/12.

Additional issues from this meeting:

  • DPW is to request a one-year extension of Revenue Reconciliation for 2011/12, if the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approves the request for the first two years;
  • CMS is reviewing DPW's request to approve the first two years of revenue reconciliation (2009/10 and 2010/11); and
  • DPW wants to develop a rate structure that is affordable and enables good quality services.

PCPA provider input is needed regarding current Office of Developmental Programs funding issues that will soon affect payroll and other immediate payment-related policy issues impacting an agency's financial situation. Please share this information with Linda Drummond no later than April 12.
